Well, I was wrong. I love this thing! As a serious chef & foodie, I believe you use a deep fryer when you require deep fried preparation. However, we have a rescued dog who is terrified by the deep fryer odour & I particularly hate the lingering smell in my house. So, I decided to try this, figuring it would do OK with frozen food. I then worried that it would take up too much counter space and it wouldn't hold enough food and it would be noisy. I figured I'd be sending it back. Wrong on all counts. It takes up very little counter real estate & has an attractive design. The basket size is large--equal to the size of my deep fryer. Mine is no louder than the microwave, and not as loud as the over-range fan. It does an excellent job on frozen food; however, you need to ignore most of the cooking instructions--leave the temperature at the "Air-Fry" option temp (don't increase it), reduce the cooking time by 1/2, turning the food once. I over cooked everything until I figured out that you must reduce the cooking time with frozen options. Add more time, if necessary. It has also done an excellent job on homemade spring rolls, samosa, & other sides & appetizers that I make from scratch. I do toss fresh-made in a few tablespoons of oil prior to air-frying. My breaded fish was delicious. Clean up is a breeze, be careful that you don't scratch the rack or bin. I have no problem letting it preheat for 2-minutes before use, & I don't mind using the "pause" feature to remove the bin to shake the food. Very glad Itook the air-fryer plunge.

I have been hesitant in using an air fryer for the longest time. After reading a ton of reviews on Ninja Air Fryers, this one was recommended because it has the added Max Crisp and Air Broil features. I used it to cook my dinner tonight and was surprisingly impressed by how the meal turned out just using the air frying feature to cook sweet potatoes, carrots and a couple of burgers. It was easy to clean as well. It will be an appliance that I will be using regularly to cook healthy meals with. Happy with my purchase. It does have a plastic smell while cooking and I had my range fan on to clear that. I do hope the smell isn’t a permanent problem. The price that I paid for it was also a big factor to why I chose this air fryer.
