2 years agoI really like this LG G3 OLED. I got it on sale, and the picture quality is amazing. The colors are vibrant, and the OLED panel looks incredible. I watched a lot of reviews to compare the available options, and I do not regret it. I will say that the TV home screen has some improvements that can be made, especially that it is not as customizable as I would have liked. But other than that, I am happy with it!

2 years agoI just don't understand the problem with TV manufacturers. I bought this after having sworn off Samsung for their terrible software. Surely one of the best TVs on the market will be better, right? Nope. Every two or three weeks I need to power cycle my LG G3 because I get a black screen from one input or other. LG apologists just accept this and don't mention it as a problem with the product. If you Google it, you'll see lots of posts of, "oh, just power cycle the TV and it'll be fine." I, for one, prefer not to have to pull my TV cabinet away from the wall every 2 weeks to mess with the power cables. I am so tired of these premium brands packaging their excellent display panels with software and firmware that seems like it was made in Cold War USSR. I'll keep exploring brands. This has put me off LG for sure.

2 years agoI've had this tv for approximately 6 months. The G3 65" has - amazing - image quality. It's bright, colourful, sharp and being OLED, has rich, dark blacks. There is extensive control over all aspects of the image, but luckily the default settings are more than acceptable. The tv came with a really well-designed, proprietary wall mount that has the very thin tv resting flat on the wall, but can be pulled out when needing to access the rear input/outputs. I'm very impressed with the thoughtful design and high-quality build of this panel. It's the best tv I've ever owned by a long shot. Both movies and sports look quite literally awesome. We have a PS 5 hooked up to it and again, the image quality is excellent. This tv is well worth the investment.

2 years agoI bought the stand for the TV before I got it, because it only came with one to hang on the wall.. I got the TV and installed the stand and when I turned it on first thing I saw was a green line on the right from top to bottom so I turned it off .. when I tried to turn it back on would not turn on .. so reboxed it sent it back .. I'm stuck with the stand .. The TV im buying now as one.. Not happy waiting for refund had to keep calling once a week for 3 weeks last call they told me they had the TV 2 days after I sent it back... So why the wait for the refund?

3 years agoComing from a 65" LG C9 Oled, I have to say the experience has been positive. The screen is brighter, and the TV itself is more responsive. Aside from that.. If you have an OLED either from Sony, or LG of the same size, don't expect to be WOWED. OLED from any generation will pretty much look the same. Our reason for purchase was the size, and the way this G3 attaches to the wall. The C9 we had looked pretty good on the wall, but you could see cables, and the gap between the unit and wall. This sits nice and flush. We choose to use Apple TV versus the included built in apps, but if you need to use the smart functions of this TV, you won't be disappointed. Response time is much faster than our older model. We also use it as our PC display driven by a 4090, and it works great as a monitor. Eye burning bright, and games look magnificent. In a nutshell, its brighter, looks good on the wall. Minor downside, and most won't notice, but gradients are a bit harsh on compressed video. Hopefully LG can improve in firmware. Setup takes some time, and I was able to find a lot of help on Reddit to dial it to near perfection.

3 years agoSo I've had multiple issues ordering large TVs off Amazon. In the last 2 years, I've had 1 Samsung and 2 Sony mini LED TVs I've had to return because the packaging was just not up to being shipped by a regular parcel company. Box weren't damaged but the TV were...(light leakages, bent panels, broken clips on back plastic cover, etc). I was fed up and ended up picking one directly from the pallet from a local retailer. It might be written in bold letters "Store and Transport standing up" with large arrows, a 65in or larger TV is going to be put on its side at one point 😂 Fast forward to Dec 2023 : I'm sick of my QN90B - really bad degradation of the Mini LED backlight: dirty screen effect super obvious on regular content... But I have a bright room. QD Oleds are bright but I don't like the gray-ish tint they have + Rtings longevity test doesn't look promising. Had a LG C1 in that location but it wasn't bright enough for daytime watching. Then LG comes up with this new micro lenses covered panel. Still WOLED (dedicated white pixel) which, as my C1 can attest, definitely help relieve the other sub pixels... But with a physical optical layer on top to improve brightness. Couldn't find it locally... Would I tempt faith with another online order? OLED screens are glass... They don't bleed light if they bend. LG construction seems superior to the plastic mini LEDs on the market... Let's do this. Got a one-time password for delivery (we have multi factor delivery now?). Amazon delivery driver in a rented box truck. TV box was sitting flat... But screen down.. might be ok. Took 2 people to get it out. Just installed it using my existing VESA arm - it came with a wall mount but I prefer having more play... Working perfectly fine so the shipping wasn't problematic! Because it's glass, because it's LG or because the delivery driver was more careful? Who knows. It's not as bright as my QN90B mini led it's replacing but gosh I was sick of seeing the local dimming squares all over. It gets significantly brighter than my C1 and the processor is faster so apps feel more responsive - I might skip the Roku. Probably the best 65in TV you can buy right now, especially on sale!
